This investigation of oto-acoustic emission (OAE) was directed to its clinical application for a hearing test. Properties of OAE such as pseudothreshold, an input-output function, frequency characteristics and reproducibility were examined. OAEs were measured in the cases of unilateral inner ear impairment. The interaural difference of pseudothreshold was considered to be clinically the most instrumental and it was significantly larger in the cases of unilateral inner ear Continual OAE was more frequently measured in the tinnitus cases of normal hearing.
