A new calibration method for a reference solar cell is proposed and the experimental results are described. The calibration of Isc (short-circuit current) of a reference solar cell can be made by taking into consideration the short-circuit current of the cell under the radiation from a solar simulator, the radiation spectrum of the simulator, the standard spectral distribution of sunlight, and the spectral response of the cell. Experimental results show that the dispersion of calibration values is within ±2.0% for a reference cell having no bias light effect and within ±2.5% for a reference cell having a bias light effect.
