BaTiO3 nanoparticle/polymer hybrid was synthesized from metal-organics via in situ process. A BaTiO3 precursor was synthesized from Ba metal, titanium isopropoxide and unsaturated ligand for polymerization. The precursor was polymerization and hydrolyzed yielding BaTiO3 particle/polymer hybrid. The BaTiO3 precursor and BaTiO3 particle/polymer hybrid were characterized by FT-IR, H-NMR and XRD. Nanocrystalline BaTiO3 particles were confirmed to be dispersed in the polymer matrix. The crystallinity and size of BaTiO3 particles were dependent on the hydrolysis and polymerization condition. The dielectric properties of the hybrid were also measured.
