Abstract
Recently, new optical crystal RCa4O(BO3)3 (RCOB, R=La. Gd and Y) has benn investigated, and their optical properties have also been evaluated in detail. Good nonlinear optical properties and SHG application by these crystal have been reported, however, few piezoelectric properties have been evaluated. Thus, we have been measured the piezoelectric characteristics such as material constants and surface acoustic wave (SAW) properties. In this study, the material constants and measurement methods by resonance-antiresonance technique for crystalline group m in monoclinic were revealed. Their temperature coefficients were also evaluated. The SAW measurements and simulation by computer were also performed, and their agreement can be obtained.
