LaF3:Eu3+ nanocrycals were prepared through a hydrothermal route, with cetltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), as a cationic surfactant, It was found that crystallization and luminescence properties of LaF3:Eu3+ nanocrystals were greatly affected by the CTAB concentration and calcination temperature. The LaF3:Eu3+nanocrystals synthesized with 0.006mol/L CTAB and heated at 600oC exhibited the highest luminescence
