Abstract

The aim in my paper is to explore some convincing aspects in Aristotle's solution. I make the following points clear.
Firstly, his arguments set forth gradual and convergent approaches to the paradoxes, namely, not only a transition from the ad hominem arguments to the fact and truth, but also his step-by-step reconstruction of four paradoxes.
Secondly, Aristotle correctly grasps that the most crucial issue is in how it is possible to "move in an instant". He answers to this by suggesting (1) that "x is φ-ing now" can be analyzed into "x is φ-ing in the same instant y is Ψ-ing", and (2) that the latter part is based on the more fundamental motion and time.
