In this report, the technique of measurment of color temperature is reviewed. If radiation is close to the spectral energy distribution of grey body radiation such as incandescent lamp, then the ratio of measurement at any two points in the spectrum will be describe the photographic color temperature. This is the principle of many commertial color temperature meter. In the case of measurement of visual color temperature, the problem becomes in effect visual colorimetry. In the third case, if the light source is non grey body, we must use the instrument based on color sensitivities of films to get its photographic color temperature.
The author reviewed also two methods to calibrate the scale of color temperature meter.
