Persistent spectral hole burning (PSHB) is not only one of the promising methods for realizing high density optical data storage, but also used as a rather new method of high resolution spectroscopy for investigating photochemical properties of organic dye molecules at low temperatures. The effects of addition of several organic and inorganic salts on the PSHB of resorufn and resazurin are recognized and compared to the effects of N, N, N′, N′-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine addition.
