Before the age of Edo, the dispensary in Japan grew and changed by the influence of Buddhism, Christianity and Confucianism which were brought from foreign countries; I think the first hospital in our country is not “Ryobyoin” established by Prince Shotoku, as tradition said, but “Yakuin” established by Empress Komyo.
