Abstract

A collaborative robot is a robot that performs tasks such as repeatedly moving heavy loads in place of a human, and is designed to support workers. Collaborative robots are not widely used at present because of the high cost of introducing and maintaining them. This study aims to realize the construction of collaborative robots by non-experts through the use of a collaborative robot construction manual that incorporates the know-how of experts and the support of experts from a distance. At the same time, we aim to reduce the dependence on experts and the cost required for this. In this report, we outline the assembly manual for non-experts, which was prepared under the supervision of experts in the field of collaborative robotics by visiting assembly sites and acquiring the know-how of experts. We also describe a preliminary experiment of cooperative robot assembly by non-experts using the manual.
