Abstract
In order to evaluate total performances of 3-D surface texture measuring instruments, certain surface texture material measure with appropriate irregularities is necessary in the same way as 2-D (profile method) case. By utilizing the generated 3-D random surface texture data as a software gauge, we tried to manufacture such kind of material measures by an ultra-precision machine. Also, we measure the shape of ball end mill, and simulate the machined surface based on the measured value. A comparison between the original data, simulated data which based on the original data, and manufactured real surface was made and its discrepancy was analyzed in this report.
