Myocardial Perfusion Imaging with ^99mTc-Teboroxime

Abstract

Myocardial perfusion imaging with ^99mTc-teboroxime was performed on patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) or suspected of IHD, which was compared with thallium scintigraphy. Results from the teboroxime imaging were well correspondent with findings in the Tl-scintigraphy, indicating its high sensitivity and specificity. Imaging should be started immediately after the injection of teboroxime, because it cleared from myocardium very rapidly. Additional information about ischemia might be obtained by measurement of its clearance rate from myocardium.
