Sustainable land management positively impacts both natural ecosystems and human society’s sustainable development. This article explores key measures for sustainable land management and degraded grassland restoration. By reasonably planning land use and avoiding over-cultivation and urbanization, the ecosystem of grassland vegetation can be protected, preserving its richness and diversity. Scientific agricultural practices help mitigate soil erosion, maintain soil structure, and balance soil moisture, thereby preserving soil health and fertility. In terms of restoring degraded grasslands, introducing native plants, adopting soil water retention and carbon sequestration technologies, and implementing proper irrigation planning can improve vegetation cover and soil quality in degraded grasslands, promoting the recovery of ecosystem functions. The relationship between degraded grassland vegetation and soil characteristics is also discussed, examining the critical impact of soil nutrient content, soil texture, moisture conditions, soil pH, and organic matter content on vegetation health.
