3-1 A Test for Trend Change in Failure Rate with Unknown Turning Point(Proceedings of 14th Reliability Symposium)

The problem of trend change in the failure rate is great interest in the reliability and survival analysis. In this paper we develop a test statistic for testing whether or not the failure rate changes its trend. We do not assume that the turning point or the proportion before the turning point is known. We establish the asymptotic null distribution of test statistic and obtain asymptotic critical values of the asymptotic null distribution. Example is used to illustrate the application of our test.
