This paper shows the origin of local groups and effectiveness as a community bond. Most groups answered tha their groups are to offer community members their own places. Only a few groups are originated by local community association (chonaikai, and others are free to join. Many non-members are involved in the parade, and many of them find a group to join, through network of school friends or neighbors.
