Abstract

Copenhagen is a well-known bicycle city; however, they have a problem of room for bicycle parking. A lot of bicycles parked outside the bicycle parking space affect road safety and pedestrian’s accessibility. One of the reasons is new types of bicycle sharing service. Dockless bicycle sharing service has been expanding rapidly since 2016. Since available bicycles are parked in the public space, users can rent a bicycle anywhere. The problem is that the service is operated without the approval of Copenhagen municipality. To solve the problem, the administrator of Copenhagen created a guideline that valid from 2020. A dockless bicycle sharing company will be approved only if they follow a strict rule.
