It is known that many alleys are distributed over the Furumachi area in Niigata so that between dwelling units may be sewn. The purpose of this research is to grasp the actual condition of the alley in the Furumachi area. 1) 221 alleys are widely distributed in the Furumachi area. It is the feature that many pass with a straight line type. 2) It is thought that the alleys more than about half are shared the site by halves.
