Abstract

To clarify the tsunami damage control policies for tourists by the local municipal administration, interview surveys were conducted with public servants responsible for tourism or disaster prevention at six cities and/or town councils in Sagami-bay area, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. As a result, first, it is clarified that even though they are located in the same Sagami-bay area, the expected damage caused by the tsunami varies and that tourism activities in each municipality are diverse. Second, it is clarified that the current policies for tourism or disaster prevention are independent and connectivity among municipalities is required.
