Abstract

Recently, there are various building types of Wedding halls imitated by western architectures in Japan.Furthermore,Opposition movement against them from point of view as townscape conservation has been happened nationwide.The aim of this study is to clarify building types of wedding halls throughout Japan and facade characteristics of them.The results are as follows:(1)The buildings are categorized to 3 simple types;temple type, chapel type, residence type and 3 mixed types;temple-chapel type, temple-resedence type, chapel-residence type.(2)There are imitation type and quotation type in facade designs of them.We found more imitation types in 3 mixed types. (3)We consider that number of facade element and combination effect imitations and quotations in wedding halls.
