Abstract

LRT is a public transportation system that is an advanced version of conventional streetcars, and is said to have excellent punctuality, speed, and environmental performance. At present, there is no case of introducing LRT on all new lines in Japan, and it will be introduced for the first time in Utsunomiya this fiscal year. In this study, the transportation network before and after the introduction of LRT was analyzed using Dijkstra's method, and the minimum travel time was calculated. Based on this, the effect of shortening the time required to travel by public transportation was estimated. In addition, by comparing the degree of delay between buses and LRT, we estimated the effect of introducing LRT as a means of transportation.
