Abstract

In the suburbs of local cities, Neighborhood associations are maintaining various initiatives for residents lives, such as disaster prevention, crime prevention, traffic safety, and environmental activities, , and new residential areas in the vicinity also benefit from these activities. In the Urbanization Control Area of Omihachiman, district plans for residential areas, including types like rural villages, have been used to improve these local issues. In this study, we investigated the development of new residential areas and neighborhood association activities in suburb of Omihachiman , and analyzed their relationships and issues. To understanding the implementation of those activities and the need for them., the study examined the impact of existing and new residents on the local community in terms of differences of community association participation depending on the timing and size of new residential development, as well as the transformation of community associations associated with new residential areas.
