Serial changes of FPA and FPB β 15-42 have been investigated for a study on blood coagulation and fibrinolysis of 21 DIC patients. Our findings follow.
1) Continuous FOY infusion resulted in a statistically significant fall of FPA levels.
2) There were no statistically significant changes of FPB β 15-42 levels after the FOY treatment and judging from FPA/FPB β 15-42 ratios, fibrinolytic activity exceeded that of coagulation.
3) The FPA, FPB β 15-42 and Ccr, Crnn did not reveal a notable positive correlation. The activation of coagulatory and fibrinolytic systems were not found to show any significant difference between the patients with or without acute renal failure.
4) On the first day, the FPA and FPB β 15-42 levels of obstetric DIC patients were significantly greater than that of DIC patients due to multiple organ failure. But after that there were no difference between two groups.
