We focus on the downstream segment of the Kizu River (0-20km) where sandy bars are formed alternately. These bars have been affected by impacts such as extensive dredging in the downstream (the Yodo river), gravel mining and so on. In Kizu River, vegetation area has grown and expanded on the bars, and channel narrowing occurs. Morphological condition in river is very important for river ecosystem, so that we need investigate and predict the transition of physical condition on the bars such as bar morphology, vegetation cover, and so on. We found that it is one of the keys of prediction of morphological condition in Kizu River to grasp the spread of bed degradation from downstream caused by channel narrowing. As results, we predict the tendency of morphological condition of Kizu River.
