"Self-preparedness program against water hazard" is a challenge of Aichi prefecture to establish where various menus will be devised to spiral-up the levels of citizens’ resilience. Aichi prefecture has tackled with the programs how to transfer the information of water hazard to citizens with advisory committee composed of various academic peoples and resultantly it has awaked the importance to strengthen the self-preparedness of citizens with well digested information of hazard and risk due to heavy rainfall and flood. We have recognized that citizens are categorized several groups by their awareness, knowledge and activities, and that it is necessary to provide appropriate menus for them to step-up the levels. This paper explains the already-done projects of self-made hazard map and drill against heavy rainfall and the present challenging menus for several projects to step up each level of categorized citizens.
