Effective river management is one of the important issues in Japan. Especially making partnership among citizen-government-academia for sustainable river management and dividing up roles of river management among them are important. In this study, we introduce the efforts of river management partnership in northern part of Kyushu and report the knowledge makes a contribution to promoting more effective river management. We analyzed merits and issues of these efforts by listening and questionnaire survey.
We revealed following results; those efforts promote making partnership among not only citizen-government-academia but also among citizen groups; supply learning chances for them; strengthen and expansion a human network which works to help each other in a time of natural disaster; supply important opportunities to develop human resources.
