On the Tokai Flood Disaster, 80,000 tons of disaster waste were made. They made residents’ restoration difficult, and local governments had to spend a large amount of cost for their treatment. If residents obey directions of local governments to separate waste, the cost for their treatment can be reduced through reducing the amount of the waste. Also, other restoration tasks can be performed instead. The aim of this study is to contribute to smooth restoration from disasters through reducing the cost for disaster waste treatment.
From the results of this survey, the degree of the effect which instructions of the local governments given to residents to separate disaster waste is evaluated. Then the criterion that residents agree to separating disaster waste is proposed.
