En mars 2017, sur le site Tobitate Japan, s’est ouverte une nouvelle page d’information pour inciter les étudiants japonais à partir étudier à l’étranger intitulée « Daizukan » ou « Grande Encyclopédie Illustrée ». Elle recueille des « taikendan » ou récits d’expériences dans lesquels des étudiants racontent comment s’est déroulé leur séjour à l’étranger. Pour cela, ils remplissent une sorte de formulaire préformaté. Dans cet article, nous analysons les récits d’expériences des étudiants ayant séjourné dans un pays francophone d’Europe afin de comprendre les raisons de leur départ pour la France, la Suisse ou la Belgique. Nous cherchons à mettre au jour les acquisitions formelles ou informelles faites pendant leur séjour. Nous comparons la restitution de leur expérience vécue aux attentes des concepteurs du programme Tobitate Japan.
In March 2017, on the Tobitate Japan website, a new information page, entitled « Daizukan » or « Great Illustrated Encyclopédia », was launched to encourage Japanese students to study abroad. This new page collects «taikendan» or life experience stories in which students tell how was their sojourn abroad. For this purpose, they fill out a preformatted form. In this paper, we analyze life experience stories of students who stayed in a French-speaking country in Europe. We try to understand the reasons for their departure for France, Switzerland or Belgium and to identify the formal or informal acquisitions made during their sojourn. We compare the restitution of their life experience to the expectations of the designers of the Tobitate Japan program.
