The solubility of metal components from printed wiring boards with electronic parts disassembled from electronic equipment were investigated. In the leaching tests, the printed wiring boards were crushed by a hammer mill, screened and tested to examine th effects of leaching time, leaching temperature, particle size of crushed products and roasting. When the sample with a particle size of 0.417 mm or less was leached by water at 25°C for 8 hour with a solid-liquid density of 100 g/dm3, the pH value of the leaching liquor was 5.95, and the concentrations of B, Ca, Pb and Cu were 2.36, 1.43, 1.29 and 0.54 mg/dm3, respectively. Besides the above, the trace amounts of Zn, Cd and Mg were detected, but all of them were 0.1 mg/dm3 or less.
