Abstract
This paper is concerned with a model reduction method taking account of the steady-state gain, while keeping the H norm of the associated error system as small as possible with the LMI optimization technique. An existing method to achieve this objective is such that only the input and output matrices are modified iteratively, and the state matrix remains unchanged. The extension of this method provided in this paper enables one to modify the state matrix as well. The method is applied to the reduction of a multi-machine electric power system to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
