Abstract
In this paper, signal compression based on a nonlinear prediction is proposed. In this method, reconstructed signals are stored in a database, the data close to the present signal are retrieved, and the predicted signal is calculated based on the retrieved data. It is shown through experimental results that the nonlinear prediction achieves higher compression performance than the linear one.
