Abstract
The note has been focused on the inflatable structures which are formed with membranes and are deployable by air inflation. The objective of this paper is vibration control of the inflatable tube by piezoelectric materials in order to apply for flexible robot arm. The inflatable tube was manufactured in two kinds of tube form by the difference in the actuation method. The state space model for the input-output connection of the inflatable tube using the piezoelectric material was obtained. The controller was designed with LQR control theory by using identified linear model. The experimental results confirmed the possibility of vibration control to inflatable tube by using piezoelectric materials.
