Abstract
Existing man-machine interface research is developing technologies
to support human understanding. But it is not enough for making
people act against disasters. Technologies to support people's
comprehensive recognition of the risky situation and to make people
agree with the necessity to act against the disasters. This human
cognitive behavior is called "Nattoku" in Japanese. In this paper,
necessity to develop new technologies of supporting people's Nattoku
is discussed by referring to the actual cases of unsuccessful
evacuation from disasters because of discommunication from the
viewpoint of Nattoku.
