The ventricular myocardial cell model which is described by Hodgkin-Huxley-type nonlinear differential equations, is very high-dimensional and has many parameters. Based on the analysis of the global bifurcation structures on these parameters, we clarify the parameter sensitivity and robustness of the model and discuss the drug sensitivity of heart cells. We also discuss the parameter estimation and model identification (model construction) if possible.

An adaptive control framework for an uncertain response model for drug administration. First we construct a compartment model that describe transition of drug agents inside the human body. Furthermore, we consider the relationship between the concentration of the drug at an effective compartment and the actual effect of the human body due to drug dosing.

This talk deals with the cart-pendulum modeled by discrete mechanics with friction. we analyze the discrete cart-pendulum from the viewpoint of solvability of an implicit nonlinear discrete-time system. Then, we consider stabilization of the discrete cart-pendulum via discrete-time optimal regulator theory and show some simulations to verify our results.

This study extends the previous exact algorithm based on Lagrangian relaxation and dynamic programming for single-machine scheduling without machine idle time so that it can treat the problem with machine idle time permitted. Then, its effectiveness is examined by several numerical experiments.

We propose a method to generate legible images for people
who suffer from second-order aberration in the eyes.
These are obtained by applying pre-filtering method to
the original images. Firstly, we calculate the point
spread function (PSF), a causes of blurred images from
imperfect eyes. Then, PSF is used in the prefiltering stage.

We have introduced a system which detects the getting out of bed action using the ultrasonic array sensor to monitor head position by processing the signal output of this ultrasonic array sensor in the previous paper. Now we have tested a new experimental system In our experiment, we placed the ultrasonic array sensor on the ceiling with furniture and person except the person on bed.

The direct gradient descent controller with genetic algorim is developed to slove a class of non-holonomic control problems. In this paper, we propose that genetic algorithm is used to optimize the control parameters of the direct gradient descent controller. We apply the controller to the four wheel vehicle trajectory control problem.

This paper considers a problem for designing optimal smoothing spline
surface with equality and/or inequality constraints. The splines are constructed by using normalized uniform B-splines as basis functions. Then various types of constraints are formulated as linear function of the so-called control points, and the problem is reduced to quadratic programming problem. The performance is examined by some numerical examples.

How the cell motion is initiated by external stimulus, what kind of response is activated inside the cell, and what kind of stimulus can be used to control the cell motion, these questions are the motivation of the research called organized-bio-module. Throughout this research we have developed some experimental systems including tracking microscope, cell actuation device and fluorescent visualization systems. We will present the results obtaind using these systems.
