Abstract
The dynamics of large scale structures is composed of unstable rigid modes and stable vibration modes. In this paper, rigid modes are controlled and vibration modes are treated as residual modes. A strictly proper controller is designed to stabilize rigid modes and suppress the transfer from the observation spillover to the control spillover. By the small gain theorem, it is shown that large space structures can be robustly stabilized against uncertain vibration modes.
