The main purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of the strong trend of CMC (computer- mediated communication) on the usage of the traditional media "letters". To do so, "logit analysis method" and others are applied to the data set which was gathered from the questionnaire conducted in October 2005. Consequently, the variable of transmission of e-mails by mobile phones is not significant in forecasting the behavior of letter-writing, which means that not necessarily the IT oriented media has an influence on letter usage. This is surprisingly opposing to our common sense that these two media are competitive or alternative. More deeply, the output of the analysis implies that people choose each media upon their different characteristics and functions also they recognize them as different communication media which can exist side by side symbiotic.
