Abstract

Brain is the most complex organ in the body which controls all human activities including movement, sensing, consciousness, and memory. To understand mechanisms underlying human brain functions, various techniques such as EEG and fMR have been developed and advanced. In addition, recently, brain-like tissue called “brain organoid” is employed for the studies. The organoid technology open, a new avenue to elucidate the mechanism of complex human brain functions and to develop cure for brain diseases. Herein, we discuss where we stand and where we are going in the organoid research.
