Mechanical properties of ice are tested about the natural ice of the River Sungari, Manchuria. Considering the relation between the loading direction and the crystal axis of ice, the strength and the elastic modulus of ice for tension, compression, bending and shear are obtained varying the temperature of ice from 0°C to-30°C.
