We forecasted that the amount of CO_2 emissions relating to non-residential buildings in Japan for five different scenarios. Three kinds of buildings, office, school, and hospital, have selected as the representative. The five scenarios were that: (1) no measures were taken, (2) any innovative development of HVAC system was occurred, (3) the assumption that energy conservation of equipment was accelerated, (4) the assumption that energy saving was canceled by lifestyle changes, and (5) took measures aimed for the Kyoto Protocol. Simulation found that it was so hard to achieve the Kyoto Protocol without any innovative development of HVAC system in a few years for office and hospital buildings, and it was necessary that development of HVAC system for school.
