Subjective experiment was conducted to evaluate the subjective thermal comfort in the environment with spot cooling system. Six conditions, including five types of diffusers and a nozzle without diffusers were set. Seven males were exposed for 90 minutes under the conditions with spot cooling. It was found that spot cooling system without diffusers cooled down upper body of subjects, while it was possible to cool down the whole body using diffusers with 25% and 50% of opening ratio. Moreover, air velocity sensation was decreased without increasing thermal discomfort by using the diffuser. Subjects preferred the condition with the diffusers with 25% and 50% of opening ratio and 22° of discharge angle, because discomfort to thermal environment was weakened.
