For the energy conservation and the prevention of global warming, Cool Biz or Warm Biz was adopted in many offices of national and local governments. However, the effect of Cool Biz has not been grasped obviously. In this study, to clarify (the effect concerning with energy saving and indoor environment, the joint government building in Hiroshima city was chosen, and the collection of the data of energy consumption, the measurements of indoor climate and the questionnaire survey to the workers were conducted in August 2006. The results were compared between after and before introduction of Cool Biz.
