Annual indoor temperature, heating and cooling loads were analyzed by numerical simulation in order to clarify the effect of the geothermal heat use by underground pits. As a result, the simulation result of temperature in pits and heat loads indicated good agreement with the measurement result. It was predicted that heating load can be reduced from about 24 to 27%, and cooling load can be reduced about 8% by use of pits.
