With the improvement of national standard of living and with brisk industrial activity, energy demand in Japan is going up rapidly. It is expected that the increase of national energy demand still continue in the future. This forecast can be applied to the world energy situation.
Looking from the viewpoint of energy supply, dependency of energy sources is more and more changing from solid to liquid energy. Intensification of OPEC results in leading insecure aspects to stabilizing energy supply. In addition, air pollution becomes a social problem in all industrial countries. Under the above-status, conversion to the so-called “Clean Energy” is accelerated.
In this paper describes the author that the world energy situation, and that evaluation of energy demand and supply, energy policies and problems in the future in Japan.
