The rotor current and rotor flux are interfere each other where core loss is exists. Therefore, the rotor currents and rotor fluxes must be calculated or estimated from the input and output information. This paper describes an approach to estimation of rotor current and flux from measured terminal variables from the viewpoint of non-linear observer. This is based on non-linear observer theory for bilinear system. The state equations of an induction motor behave as a bilinear system in terms of product of state variable and control input. Simulation results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed observer theory.
