Functional near-infrared imaging system using a scanning probe

We propose a near-infrared imaging system using a scanning probe aimed at personal examination of human body. Experiments to detect absorbers in scattering medium have been conducted. By scanning of the probe on the surface, we can obtain an image that suggests existence of absorbers. A scanning probe system using a computer mouse for relative position detection has been demonstrated.
