In the early phase of a design process, conceptualization and preliminary refinement are important processes in deciding the quality of a product; however, their implementation in computer systems is difficult. Interactive evolutionary computation (IEC) has provided us a solution to this problem by ignoring the designer’s load of interacting with the system frequently. In this study, we extend the IEC by introducing EFS (evaluation function synthesizing system) and show that it contributes to alleviating such designer’s load.
