Abstract
NTT COMWARE adopted RUP as the development standard and is introducing RUP throughout its corporation. RUP’s aim is to provide projects with enough knowledge developing high quality software being premised on various sorts of development. However, due to its comprehensive description, RUP is often perceived as a heavy weight process although in fact it is a process framework that can be tailored to suit particular projects. Therefore we have worked to find a guideline to tailor the RUP to achieve flexibility and promptness on the development process without sacrificing high quality. In this paper we report our practical tailoring guideline for RUP and its effective adoption.
