Abstract
The two-color mode of SACLA were used to study the non-thermal phase transitions of diamond and silicon. The intensity of the diamond probe diffraction peaks remained constant over the measured time range. It was concluded that a higher x-ray dose is required to reach the graphitization phase transition. The decreasing silicon (311) diffraction intensity indicated ultrafast melting.
