Abstract
In this work, we will study the role of hydrogen bonds on the PDA biosensor by taking FTIR spectra while changing the humidity. The PDA has the carboxyl head groups forming the hydrogen bonding between head groups before exposure to moisture, which can make the PDA linear. When increasing the humidity, the water molecules may cut these hydrogen bondings, which may allow PDA side chains easier to twist and change color. This is the hypothesis we have and want to test it in this experiment.
