A Study of Numerical Schemes for the Stereological Estimation of Particle Size Distribution

Abstract

Numerical schemes for estimating the sphere size distribution from the observed size distribution of their crops sections are classified according to the type of approximation. Then, their stability and accuracy are studied in terms of the condition number and the asymptotic evaluation of residues and errors.
