The greatest characteristic of the J-PARC is its high-power beam. The requirements for the vacuum system is beyond the role of conventional vacuum systems. The typical characteristics of the vacuum system in J-PARC are the large aperture beam ducts and bellows, the vacuum devices with high radioactivation resistivity, the pumping systems which rapidly evacuate to UHV, the treatments for wall materials to suppress the additional outgassing via the high-power beam. This presentation aims to introduce typical vacuum technologies in the J-PARC vacuum system.
